Dangerously icy conditions are expected to develop overnight, with a national weather warning issued by Met Eireann for Saturday night and Sunday morning.
The status yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning forecasts that temperatures will drop as low as minus four degrees on Saturday night, possibly colder away from the coast.
“This will lead to a widespread hard ground frost and icy surfaces, with potentially dangerous conditions,” Met Eireann states.
The weather warning will be in force from 6pm on Saturday evening until 10am on Sunday.
