An active wear company set up by a Galway designer is on track to experience sales growth of over 150% for the second half of 2020, in only its second full year of trading.
Founded in 2018 by Ballinasloe native Jane Deasy, Trendy & Bendy started with just one legging product. But the company has since expanded its range to include premium tanks, hoodies and outdoor jackets as well as leggings.
And the range won’t stop there, as there are big plans to expand further in 2021 and launch in the UK!
The company offers a wide range of active wear clothing for women who are looking for figure-enhancing sportswear for yoga, pilates and as everyday clothing.
The range is designed by Jane Deasy and produced with the company’s own unique fabric composition, using sustainable materials.
“It has been a steep learning curve in a relatively short period, but we are really pleased with the response of the market in Ireland to the range of products we provide,” said Jane.
“We identified a particular need amongst women for stylish, comfortable, and figure enhancing clothing.
“We have invested considerable time and energy in looking at the smallest detail in the development of the range and thankfully our efforts are paying off.”
Jane said that their online retail model has also benefited significantly from the shopping habits that have emerged since the onset of Covid-19.
“Clearly people have spent significantly more time online which has enabled them to explore the marketplace and this has been good for our business,” she said.
“However, we are not all about online and have developed a number of retail partners throughout Ireland as a further route to market.
“This is important for us, as we are confident when buyers get the opportunity to see and feel the product in real life they respond positively.”
In a relatively short period, the company has developed an avid following, with a strong trend of multiple repeat orders from existing customers plus first-time customers, as it continues to add to its customer base.
2021 will be a transformative year for Trendy & Bendy, as Jane and her team further scale the business by continuing to expand its range and launch Trendy & Bendy in the UK.
