Galway Daily news 25 percent drop in COVID cases in Galway hospitals

The Department of Health has reported 226 new cases of COVID-19 today and six further deaths related to the disease.

Six new cases were reported in Galway today, while 64 cases are in Dublin, 41 in Donegal, 23 in Tipperary and 13 in Limerick.

56% of today’s cases are under 45 years of age and the median age is 42.

There are five people in Galway hospitals with Covid-19 as of yesterday evening.

As of 2pm today, there are 292 people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in hospitals in the State, of which 36 are in ICU.

There have been 18 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

Galway’s 14-day incidence rate is now 65.1, with 168 new cases in the past fortnight.
