Seven new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Galway by the Department of Health this afternoon, as well as 552 nationally.

Two further deaths related to the virus in the Republic were also reported today.

Dublin (173), Cork (86) and Limerick (40) are the counties with the highest number of new cases today.

63% of the 552 cases are under 45 and the median age is 36.

768 positive test results were recorded in Galway in the past 14 days, as the county’s incidence rate continues to decline.

As of 2pm today, 330 people with COVID-19 are in hospitali, of which 47 are in ICU.
