There has been an increase in the numer of confirmed cases of COVID-19 at University Hopsital Galway and Portiuncila Hospital.
The numbers at both hopsitals had remained steady throughout last week, but the latest HSE figures show there are now 16 people at UHG with Covid, with one in ICU. There are five more people in Portiuncula with the virus.
On Friday evening when the last HSE update was released, there were ten people at UHG who had tested positive and 0 in ICU.
At Galway University Hospitals there are 29 general beds available, as well as five ICU beds. There are five general beds at in Ballinasloe.
As of 8am this morning, there are 354 people in hospital across the Republic with Covid-19 with 38 in ICU.
