Two paddle boarders who went missing in Galway Bay overnight have been found alive after extensive searches this morning.
The two young women, aged 17 and 23 were found by a local fishing boat this morning south of Inis OÃrr.
The fisherman found the women clinging to a lobster pot around 2km from the island.
They went missing last night after failing to return from paddling boarding at Furbo beach.
The Coast Guard has said that the young women have been transferred to the care of medical services, and it is understood that they will be taken to Galway for medical examination.

The alarm was raised at approximately 10pm on Wednesday night, and searches took place overnight and again this morning.
The search and rescue operation involved units from the Coast Guard, RNLI stations at Galway and the Aran Islands, Coast Guard helicopters, and local vessels.
