Over The Edge presents issue 13 of Skylight 47 “possibly Ireland’s most interesting poetry publication”, launching on Zoom this month.
The issue includes a wide range of poems, reviews of poetry collections, and a poetry master class in which an established poet makes detailed editing suggestions for a poem submitted to them anonymously.
The latest issue of this seven year old magazine has been edited by Bernie Crawford, Nicki Griffin, & Ruth Quinlan.
The launch will be include readings by contributors of their poems, led by award-winning poet Jane Robinson who will also read some of her own work.
Jane Robinson’s poems have won the Strokestown International Poetry Prize and has also been honoured at the Red Line Book Festival.
The Dublin based poet has published in journals including Poetry Ireland Review, The Stinging Fly, Banshee, and more.
Her debut collection Journey to the Sleeping Whale (Salmon Poetry, 2018) won the 2019 Shine/Strong Award for Best First Collection by an Irish poet.
The first issue of Skylight 47 was published in January 2013 to celebrate ten years of Galway’s Over The Edge readings in the City Library.
Issue 13 will be having a launch event on Zoom at the next meeting of Over the Edge on July 23.
