There have been two deaths related to coronavirus reported to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre, along with 23 new confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Today also saw a spike in Galway COVID-19 cases, with four of today’s new cases confirmed here.

This is the largest number of cases reported in Galway in a single day since May 29, and brings the total number of cases in the city and county to 490.

The Coronavirus pandemic has now claimed a total of 1,746 lives in the country, and there have been a total of 25,611 confirmed cases.

Validation of data by the HPSC has resulted in the denotification of one previously confirmed case.

The HSE is working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.
