Galway Daily news Aran Islands Ferries adding Ireland's largest ferry to its fleet

Aran Island Ferries clearly isn’t worried about business dropping off in the future, with the announcement that their newest fleet addition will be Ireland’s biggest domestic ferry.

It was announced this week that Aran Island Ferries will be adding a sixth ferry to its fleet this August.

The 40 metre vessel will be able to able to accommodate 400 passengers when it takes to Galway Bay.

Making the announcement the ferry company said they can’t wait for people to get to see her in the water.

Since Ireland went into lockdown Aran Island Ferries have not been taking any tourists or mainlanders to the islands.

But daily services have continued to run to allow islanders to make essential trips to the mainland, and for emergency/essential workers to reach the Aran Islands.
