Farmers across County Galway are being urged to submit their applications for the Basic Payment Scheme by 15 May.
East Galway TD Ciaran Cannon has said that farmers with any queries should ensure that they contact the Department of Agriculture as soon as possible.
Farmers in the county received information packs a number of weeks ago about the scheme as well as maps and land details, which will help with the application.
Minister Cannon said: “The applications are due by the closing date of Friday 15th May and I urge Galway farmers, if they have not yet had the opportunity to do so, to get their applications in now rather than wait until nearer the closing date.”
The Fine Gael TD added: “Should farmers wish to contact the Department in relation to their online application, they should do so as soon as possible by contacting 0761 064424 in relation to queries on registering for www.agfood.ie – for example queries on lost passwords or how to register and 0761 064420 for those who need help completing the BPS application once they are registered on www.agfood.ie.
“I would also like to remind farmers in the county of the dedicated COVID-19 helpline 076 1064468 which is open from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm from Monday to Friday and which can assist with all concerns during current public health concerns.”
