As part of the work of the Community Response Forum coordinating local groups’ efforts in the coronavirus pandemic, the city council has created an interactive map of services available in the city.
The interactive map provides information on the many different supports available from the 67 voluntary groups in Galway City alone who are helping the most vulnerable to the coronavirus in our society.
The different supports that are listed on it include help with the collection of shopping, medications and fuel, social isolation supports from local and national organisations.
Information can also be found about meals and their delivery to people and families made vulnerable by the COVID-19 crisis.
The Community Response Forum was created in response to the government’s Community Call to local authorities and the many groups that they work with.
The City Council leads the Forum, coordinating the efforts and services of different community and voluntary groups, as well as helping facilitate communications with state agencies like the HSE and An Garda SÃochána.
The map was jointly developed by the city council and  the Galway City Community Network.
The map is now publicly available and can be used as a useful information resource both for individuals made vulnerable by COVID-19 and by organisations or agencies that need to know where they may refer their clients to for support.
