Plans have been submitted to Galway County Council to remove an asbestos roof from the Community Centre in Oranmore.
The Oranmore Park Committee are seeking planning permission to remove an existing asbestos roof and replace it with a new 100mm insulated composite panel.
Oranmore Community Centre is equipped with multiple meeting rooms, a large hall, and an astro/ball wall available for local community groups.
Other work which will be part of this project includes installing new guttering and edge details, and a connection to existing downpipes and outlets.
Galway County Council is due to make a decision on this planning application by April
