A public consultation will take place in Ballinasloe this week to get people’s views on developing a Flood Relief Scheme for the area.
The meeting on the Ballinasloe Flood Relief Scheme will take place this Thursday, March 5 at the Shearwater Hotel, running from 3pm until 8pm.
The meeting will address the Constraints Study phase of the project, which has the job of assessing and developing a viable, cost-effective and sustainable scheme to alleviate flooding in Ballinasloe.
Galway County Council and the Office of Public Works are organising the event to get the public’s views on what they think are the key issues the study being undertaken should address.
Opinions will also be taken on points of local importance that may constrain the design of flood defence measures.
Members of the Design Consultants, Arup, and the Environmental Consultants, Ryan Hanley, will be present on the day on behalf of OPW and GCC to meet with members of the public.
