Galway Daily weather Wind Warning in effect as crappy day ahead for Galway

Another status yellow weather warning for high winds has been issued for Galway today just a day after a similar alert.

The weather warning for Galway, Donegal, and Mayo is one of two which has been issued by Met Eireann, with another covering much of the north and east of Ireland.

The Galway alert warns of winds gradually veering westerly throughout Tuesday, reaching average speeds of 50 – 65km/hr with gusts of up to 110km/hr.

Winds will be strongest in coastal areas and on high ground.

This warning will come into effect at 1am on Tuesday morning and remain in place throughout the day until 8pm that night.

The second weather warning covers Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo.

It will be in place between 6am and 8pm in Tuesday, with winds reaching average speeds of 50 – 65km/hr and gusts of up to 100km/hr.

Two Marine alerts have also been issued by Met Eireann, with a Gale Warning and Small Craft Warning in place today.

Southerly winds on all Irish coastal water will reach force 6 this evening, strengthening to force 8 tonight.
