Road near Loughrea closing for a month’s worth of roadworks

A local road between Loughrea and Craughwell will be closing for a month’s worth of roadworks across December and January.

Roadworks are being carried out by the county council on a half kilometre stretch of the L-8253 Seefin Road near Loughrea between the L-8254 junction in Seefin to a point just beyond the Seefin Reservoir.

In order to enable these works the county council has ordered the road closed for two separate period in December and January, with a gap over Christmas.

The first will take place from 7am on Tuesday, December 10 until 8pm on Sunday, December 22.

The second road closure will take place from 7am on Monday, January 6 until 8pm on Friday, January 24.

The road closure has been ordered by the county council to facilitate new water mains installation.

Alternative routes will be signposted during these periods.
