Tourism Ireland is celebrating Galway’s upcoming year as the European Capital of Culture with a new film promoting Galway 2020 around the world.

The full programme of events for Galway 2020 was officially launched in Eyre Square last week with fireworks and aerial acrobatics witnessed by thousands.

The new Tourism Ireland film includes interviews with some of the team at Galway 2020 – including creative director Helen Marriage, Paul Fahy from the Galway International Arts Festival and Garry Hynes from the Druid Theatre Company.

They speak about what visitors to Galway can expect if they visit next year and what makes Galway such an incredibly inspiring place for culture and the arts.

Over the next few months Tourism Ireland have said that they will be heavily promoting Galway to ‘culturally curious’ tourists the world over.

The organisation’s message is that Galway 2020 will offer international holidaymakers a unique cultural and artistic experience.
