The Galway based Connolly Motor Group has expanded its presence in Galway with the acquisition of the Hyundai dealership in Ballybrit.
With the addition of the dealership and a Hyundai service station in Oranmore, the Irish Times writes that the Connolly Motor Group now employs 280 people.
Connolly Motor Group is run by brothers Kevin and Neil Connolly, and is one of the largest of its kind in Ireland.
Operating dealerships across the west of Ireland, it sells over 5,000 cars a year to customers in Galway, Mayo, and Sligo.
Kevin Connolly said that this was a strategic acquisition, which would further strengthen their offering to customers in the west by building a new relationship with Hyundai.
Managing director of Hyundai Ireland Stephen Gleeson said there is a strong pairing between their companies in terms of ambition and expansion.
