Galway Daily life & style Disappointment as fever pitch music festival forced to cancel due to bad weather

The opening of the Fever Pitch Music Festival today has been delayed until this evening due to poor weather conditions.

The second day of the music festival was supposed to kick off at 3pm today at Galway Airport.

But “due to the forecast of adverse weather conditions, high winds on site, and in the interest of our patrons safety we will be opening at a later time of 7pm.”

“We apologies for any convenience caused and look forward to seeing you all later.”

Buses for the Fever Pitch Music Festival will be leaving from the Galmount Hotel at 6:30pm, 7:00pm, 7:30pm and 8pm this evening, and returning after the event.

Bad weather also forced the closing act of the festival’s first day, The Waterboys, to finish up early on Saturday evening.

Acts scheduled to perform at Galway Airport today include Gavin James, Hudson Taylor, Scouting for Girls, Chasing Abbey, Hermitage Green, Jenny Greene, King Kong Company, Fleetwood Mac, and our home grown performers the Galway Street Club.
