Galway’s Local Enterprise Office is holding a Customs Training workshop for local businesses that trade with the UK to prepare for Brexit.
The workshop will help companies on how to deal with customs when importing and exporting when the UK will no longer be part of the EU.
This course is open to all small businesses and companies who think that their trade practices will be impacted by Brexit.
The course is taking place on June 11 from 9.30am to 4.30pm at the Clayton Hotel in Ballybrit.
The government is implementing these workshops through the Local Enterprise Office system to help businesses all the changes that will come in when dealing with Britain as a country outside of the single market.
This includes administration around imports and export, customs formalities at borders, as well as tariffs and their possible knock on effects.
It will also cover import procedures such as Electronic Declaration process and Automated Entry Processing.

The Local Enterprise Offices have been undertaking numerous initiatives over the past months to help prepare businesses for Brexit.
These include scorecards from Enterprise Ireland to evaluate exposure, financial support to trade online, Brexit loans, grants to support exporting into new markets and LEAN programmes to increase company performance, competitiveness and resilience.
