Galway based startup CitySwifter is one of five young companies around Ireland that are competing to find the business with the greatest potential in Ireland.
CitySwifter is one of the finalists in the One2Watch competition looking for the startup with the most scaleable business idea in the Republic.
They are a data analytics company which creates software products which look at complex data sets to improve public transportation.
They look at everything from daily traffic reports and customer patterns, to weather predictions to help bus companies optimise their timetables.
Already working in eight UK cities and multiple smaller towns and municipal areas, CitySwifter is planning a major expansion after securing a €1.5 million investment.
One2Watch is the headline event of FutureScope, Ireland’s biggest innovation event, a conference that exploring the potential of new businesses an ideas in emerging arenas.
The other four startup companies in the running along with CitySwifter are: Change Donations, a micro-donations platform connecting people to causes; Unitek AI, an advanced platform for extracting information from sources like handwriting; Output Sports, which uses machine learning to improve athletes’ performances through a wearable system that provides analytics data; and Tympany Medical, who are creating the Oto-Endoscope, a device to improve the patient outcome from ear surgery.
These finalists will make their pitch about why they have the most potential at the FutureScope Conference on March 28 at the Dublin Convention Centre.
The winner will receive a prize worth €10,000 including €2.5k in cash, a place in the Dublin BIC Investor Ready Programme, and working space at the Guinness Innovation Centre.
