Spring production of Jingle Bang Jangle comes to An Taibhdhearc this month

Fresh from their very successful historic re-enactment of An Chéad Dáil on January 21 st this year, An Taibhdhearc, Ireland’s national Irish language theatre, is gearing up to present their spring production of Jingle Bang Jangle between March 27 th and 31 st next.

Based on Chaucer’s The Miller’s Tale, and set against the backdrop of a visit from the Queen (Bainríon Betty) Pádhraig Ó Giollagáin’s script delivers a play of lust featuring a blacksmith who suspects his wife is getting more than a few buns from the local miller.

Directed by Rod Goodall with musical direction from Deirdre Ní Chuilinn, and featuring performances from Peadar Cox (Blacksmith), Eoin Ó Dubhghaill (Miller), Ann Marie Horan (Bainríon Betty), Fionnuala Ní Fhlatharta (Coigín, the Blacksmith’s wife), Fred McCloskey, John Burke, Treasa Ní Cheannabháin, Sorcha Ní Chéide, Úna Ní Fhlatharta, Orlaith Ní Chearra, Caitríona Ní Dhomhnaill, Mícheál Ó Meallaigh, Jane Talbot.
