Ethna Mahony and her daughter Lisa recently presented a cheque for €2,250 to Galway Hospice in memory of their late husband and father Gerard.
Gerard Mahony passed away in the care of Galway Hospice last November.
He is survived by his wife Ethna, and his children Lisa, Paul, Brian, Naoimh, and Eoin, along with many sons and daughters in-law and grandchildren.
The family raised the money by organising a sponsored walk in memory of Gerard that took place in New Quay, co. Clare last December 29.
In a Facebook post thanking the family for their generosity the hospice expressed their “Warm thanks to those who sponsored this walk and to all who took part.”
