Galway Daily news Extra train services added for supporters going to Galway v Limerick semi-final

For the second day in a row, the train from Galway to Heuston Station was delayed due to unfortunate circumstances.

This morning, just after leaving Athlone, the train struck a cow, causing significant delays.

The train moved on after the unfortunate incident 50 minutes late, and Irish Rail said this morning that there could be up to 40 minute delays to Westport/Galway services, but that this will begin to ease.

Yesterday the train was delayed in Ballinasloe due to a passenger requiring medical attention.

Iarnród Éireann have been praised on social media for how they handled the situation by keeping passengers informed and proceeding to check the train before departing.
