Galway city council has Road Crews on standby this afternoon to deal with any spot flooding in the city as the Yellow rain warning remains in effect.
Met Eireann’s status Yellow rain warning remains in effect this afternoon as Galway has been hit with an afternoon of torrential rains.
The rain warning was initially issued for 12 counties including Galway, but has since been expanded to cover all of Ireland.
Rainfall of 25-40mm is expected with more at higher ground.
The yellow warning remains in place today until 6pm this evening.

A separate wind warning was also issued for the Westm with Met Eireann predicting winds of 50-65km/hr and gusts of up to 110km/hr.
That warning has since been lifted.
