Hundreds of students will gather in Galway next week to for an event to help them set up their own student enterprise.

Galway’s Local Enterprise Office is hosting a student enterprise day together with Whizzkids Training to teach students about establishing a business and being an entrepreneur.

The event will feature a wide spectrum of speakers like Galway hurler Jason Flynn, Michael Dyer of Clarinbridge company Clean Cut Meals, and Izzy and Ailbhe Keane of Izzy Wheels.

They’ll talk with the students about the things that have helped them find success as entrepreneurs.

Schools that are taking part in the programme will then work on their own student enterprises over the coming months before the county final next year.

Every year, over 23,000 young people from 1st through to 6th year around Ireland take part in the national Student Enterprise Programme.

In January Galway will chose one school enterprise to proceed to the regional finals, before an overall national winner is chosen at Croke Park conference centre in May.

This day long event is taking place at the Ardilaun Hotel on Wednesday, October 25.
