The Crust Bucket in Carroll's Beer Garden

The most unusual Galway pizza restaurant, the Crust Bucket, has been shortlisted in the Just Eat National Takeaway Awards.

The hit pizza restaurant that operates out of a double-decker bus in the Beer Garden of Carroll’s on Dominick street has been nominated for having the best takeaway pizza in Ireland.

It’s competing against four other (vastly inferior) pizza places around Ireland:

Firehouse Pizza, Ballymun; Base Wood Fired Pizza, Terenure, Dublin; Four Star Pizza, Drogheda; and Pizza Shack in Kilcoole, Wicklow.

Crust Bucket was set up by the owner of Carroll’s Bar, Darragh Mullin, in May 2017 in its renowned Beer Garden.

These days it calls home a 20 year old, double-decker bus that’s been refurbished into a fully functional restaurant.

The Crust Bucket seats 36 inside the bus at any time, with room for more in the beer garden.

Its namesake dish is stuffed pizza crusts with dipping sauce in five or ten piece servings.

When the shortlist was announced the Crust Bucket thanked all of its customers and friends that have supported the business on its Facebook page.

To support truth, justice, and the best takeaway pizza in Ireland, go to Just Eat and cast your vote for the Crust Bucket.

The awards have people voting for their favourite takeaway Chinese, Indian, Thai, Pizza, Vegetarian, Chipper, Mexican, Japanese, American, Middle-Eastern, Healthy, Lunchtime, Curry, Spicebag, and Salad.

Also up for contention is Ireland’s favourite dish. Is it Fish & Chips, Burrito, Thai Green Curry, Pepperoni Pizza, or the Spice Bag.

The winners of the National Takeaway Awards will be announced on October 16 at an event in Twenty two dinner theatre in Dublin.

A number of tickets for the night will be given away via Just Eat’s social media channels.
