Traffic lights at the Bodkin junction by Galway Shopping Centre are still out of commission this morning causing traffic delays.
The traffic lights have been out of action since yesterday afternoon around 4pm, causing traffic chaos around the city.
AA Roadwatch are advising that there’s already a buildup of traffic on the Headford road inbound from the Kirwan roundabout this morning.
Motorists coming into the city this morning are advised to be aware of delays and to take caution on all approaches to the junction.

The lights have been out of action since yesterday afternoon around 4pm, causing pandemonium throughout the city when rush hour traffic hit.
Galway city council have put traffic management measures in place, with lane closures.
The council is advising motorists to avoid the area if at all possible.

Engineers are working on the issue, which was caused by an on-site fault, and the council says they expect the traffic lights to be restored some time this morning.
During peak hours yesterday drivers reported sitting in traffic for up to two hours because of massive tailbacks on the Headford road, Quincentenary bridge, and throughout the city.

AA Roadwatch are now reporting traffic building on the Monivea and Tuam roads, and the Quincentenary bridge.
Again, motorists should be aware of heavy traffic delays if travelling in the city this morning.
