Met Éireann have said cool weather will continue for the rest of the week as temperatures could dip below 10° for the first time all summer.
We can expect frequent and sometimes heavy rain showers interrupting the sunshine today and tomorrow.
Chilly nights tonight and Thursday might see the coolest temperatures since April as the mercury could drop to 8-10°.
Today and tomorrow will remain cool during the day with expected highs of 15-17° lasting until Friday.
Showers will likely continue through the weekend, with steadier rain predicted for Saturday and Sunday.
This weekend could see the return of warmer and more humid conditions with highs of above 20° likely.
The national weather service stated: “Showers will continue tonight, some of them heavy, with perhaps the odd rumble of thunder near the coastal fringes. There will be clear periods too, especially in eastern parts of the province. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees in light, mainly southwest breezes.
“Thursday will be another day of sunny spells and scattered showers. Some of the showers will be heavy with perhaps the odd rumble of thunder. Top temperatures will range 14 to 16 degrees in moderate westerly breezes.”
