Galway daily news Ambulance personnel to stage 24 strike next week

The Monivea road has reopened after being closed this afternoon due to a serious road traffic collision.

Emergency services attended the scene of a two vehicle collision between Carnmore Cross and Briarhill junction that took place shortly after 1pm.

The Monivea road was closed, causing delays in Ballybrit where there is already a high volume of traffic this week with the Galway Races, but is now open to traffic again.

Outside of the city Emergency services are currently at the scene of collision on the N59 at Corcullen between Moycullen and Bushy Park.

The accident has created long delays for traffic going both directions, but especially inbound.
