Captain’s Charity Day has raised €50,000 for Breast Cancer Research.

Friday May 18th last, saw a large turnout at the Galway Golf Club in Salthill for the Captain’s Charity Day which was being held in aid of Breast Cancer Research.

The “Play in Pink” event saw over 120 golfers compete over the beautifully prepared 18-hole layout and the novel format of the “Champagne Pink Ball Scramble” certainly added to the enjoyment of all those present.

The golf was followed by a three course dinner in the club dining room, a charity auction and prize giving.

A total of €50,000 was raised on the day for Breast Cancer Research a national charity based at the Lambe Institute for Translational Research at NUI Galway.

Speaking at the event Club Captain, Philip Duffy expressed his delight at the total of the funds raised on the day and thanked everyone who played their part in making the day a huge success.
