Over 3,000 students have been registered to vote since September in NUI Galway, the Students Union President has said.
Lorcán Ó Maoileannaigh said that he’d like to thank Garda Nora for taking the time out to process the applications of so many unregistered students.
With the referendum just three weeks away, the deadline to get registered is 8 May.
Today saw droves of NUI Galway students line up outside ‘Smokeys’ to get their chance to vote on May 25.

Meanwhile, there were similar queues at GMIT, and at colleges and universities across the state as young people register to vote en masse.
