Three people arrested in connection with string of burglaries worth €200,000 in stolen goods

Gardaí have arrested a group of people suspected of carrying out a string of burglaries at commercial properties in Galway, Mayo, Cork, Kildare and Wexford.

Two men, one in his 40s and the other in his 50s, and one woman in her 40s were arrested as part of an operation targeting an organised criminal group.

The group are suspected of burglaries of at least 12 commercial premises where an estimated €200,000 worth of cigarettes and vapes were stolen.

Gardaí made the arrests after units from the North Western and Southern Regions searched two premises in the Dublin Metropolitan Region on Thursday.

During the course of the searches quantities of cigarettes were recovered by Gardaí.

The three people arrested are all currently detained at a Garda Station in the Garda North Western Region pursuant to Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2006.
